Roanoke, Virginia

Inducted in 1978, Wesley V. Hillman was the youngest flight instructor in the country at age 17. He served in the U.S. Navy as an aviation instructor and spent most of his life in Roanoke, VA. He was the owner and chief instructor of Hillman Flying Service for 25 years and was active in the Civil Air Patrol. His students have gone on to serve as airline pilots and others have opened their own flight instruction businesses.
