Portsmouth, Virginia
Inducted in 1979, Henry Pascale learned to fly during WWI and retired as a Captain from the Air Corps in 1935. He then purchased a tract of land now known as the Chesapeake-Portsmouth Airport, VA. Over the years he turned the once quiet sod runway airport into the third busiest general aviation airport in Virginia. Through the many facilities and businesses developed on the airport, thousands of Virginia pilots received their flight training at the Chesapeake-Portsmouth Airport.
