Chairman's Blog

  • Old dog, new tricks.

There is a not so old joke about the B-727 captain attending transition training to a modern, computer controled, glass cockpit equiped jet. After a few days in the school house trying to make the transition from the steam gauge, VOR equiped 727 to the computers and flat screened glass cockpit of the new jet the captain was heard to remark "Now I know how a dog feels when it's watching television".

As of today we begin a new era in communicating with the VAHS membership. Through the coutesy of VAHS board member Courtney Beamon and Marie Bethel, both with Delta Airport Consultants, Inc, I now have the training to update the Chairman's blog on our new website. I'm beginning to think there might yet be some hope for this old dog. The new VAHS web site, of which this blog is a part, is a major investment by the Society to spread the word on Virginia's aviation history by making our archives and other information available online. Further, we will be able to update the site on a daily basis thus placing information of value to our membership in a timely manner.

Visit your new site often and let us know what you think.
