On July 2, 1932, an American Airways Ford Trimotor carrying the just-nominated Democratic
candidate for president, Franklin Delano Roosevelt flew from Albany NY to Chicago IL to deliver
his acceptance speech to convention delegates. It was the best publicity any airline had received to
date.
