Inducted in 1978, Allen C. Perkinson was the first director of the Virginia Division of Aeronautics, State Corporation Commission. As an engineer, he supervised Virginia airport construction in the 1930s. He was active in the air arm with the National Guard which later became the Virginia Wing of the Civil Air Patrol, retiring after 27 years as Wing Commander.
